Regencycore is an up to date take on the style of the Regency Era (early 1800s). Its rich, rand and sumptuous, full of candelabras, four-poster beds, gold, ornate allpapers and gilt mirrors. It’s definitely not minimalism.
For all of us lucky people living in Derbyshire, we need to look no further than Chatsworth for Regencycore interior inspiration. Their guest bedrooms offer excellent examples of Regencycore decor with ornately textured wallpapers and luxurious canopied beds. It’s no wonder that it was the location for Jane Austin’s Pride and Prejudice and the 2008 film blockbuster The Duchess.
If you want to add a little bit of Regencycore to your home, here are Feistic’s top hints:
1. Sleigh beds are back
Switch your Divan bed for a statement piece sleigh bed. These elegant beds have both headboards and footboards and will add an air of Regency sophistication to any bedroom. Photo: Bedworld.net
2. Add Layers of Luxurious Texture to your Bedroom Furnishings.
Adding different textures and styles to your soft furnishings will give a more indulgent and luxurious feel to a room. For your bed, start with crisp white cotton sheets and pillows, then add a richly patterned blanket or throw. Lots of cushions will give that decadent feel to your bed, and they don't have to cost a fortune either Photo: Houseofsloane.co.uk
3. Buy a Statement Mirror
Create a focal point to your room by adding an antique style mirror. It will not only increase light to the room but will also add some of the depth and richness required for Regencycore decor, the larger the better. Photo: wayfair.co.uk
4. Embrace the return of wallpaper.
Vintage wallpaper designs and fabrics are key to adding warmth and character to rooms. Don't be tempted to cover all your walls though, instead, maybe have one feature wall teamed with warm neutrals on the others that will help ensure balance. A good idea is to tie in the colours of your cushions and throws, with some of the colour detail from in
