Phil Melia will be performing at the Square and Compass, Darley Bridge, on Saturday, July 16, at 9pm. Entry is free but he will be asking for donations for Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF).

He said: “I first learned of Medecins Sans Frontieres several years ago through watching their film ‘Invisibles’. I was immediately struck by their dedication to providing high quality medical care in both natural and man-made disaster zones. My support for MSF has intensified during recent years as I have become particularly aware of their role in treating the inevitable casualties of human conflict that has escalated in some areas of the world.

“Summoning the courage to venture again into public performance after almost 20 years has probably been my biggest challenge, but it pales to nothing when I consider what it takes for an MSF doctor to get up in the morning and face the suffering of refugees as they flee their communities devastated by war.”
