New venue set to open its doors in Derbyshire town next week - with bar that closed down being transformed into brewery tap room

A bar that closed in a Derbyshire town is set to open its doors again next week - with the venue being relaunched as a brewery tap room.

Ashover Brew Co have confirmed their plans to open a new tap room in Matlock - taking on the former Twenty Ten bar on Dale Road.

The Castle will welcome customers through its doors on October 30 - with the team at the helm sharing their excitement ahead of the launch.

In a post on the venue’s Facebook page, a spokesperson said: “Ashover Brew Co is joining the Dale Road party with its newest member of the tap room family. The Castle.

“Watch this space for opening details but coming very soon to offer a unique blend of awesome Ashover cask beers, extensive keg beers, great wines, fabulous cocktails and vast spirits - plus a very unique food line up, beer garden and live music. We look forward to welcoming you soon.

“Very excited to announce that the incredible El Chappo will be joining The Castle as our permanent food offering in the kitchen, bringing their superb blend of burritos, tacos and much more.”

Twenty Ten closed for the final time at the end of August, with the venue now undergoing refurbishment ahead of the opening date.

There will be a total of 22 beers on tap at The Castle, which will become the second Ashover Brew Co tap room when it launches - with The Tannery having opened on Sadler Gate in Derby back in June.
