A massive boom in small-scale craft breweries over the last couple of decades means beer drinkers now find themselves with more local options than ever before.
While the date on everyone’s lips is April 12 – when beer gardens across the country will reopen – there is no need to wait to get your hands on a cold can of something tasty, or three.

9. Moot Ales, The Red Lion, Matlock Green, Matlock
In the distant past, the Mews family had an idea to brew their own beer and sell it through the family pub, the Red Lion. In August 2018, The Moot Oak Brewing Company was born in a building behind the pub.

10. Ashover Brewery, Kershaw Building, Business Park, Derby Road, Clay Cross
Ashover Brewery was founded in 2007 by Roy Shorrock & Kim Beresford at the Old Poets Corner pub, Ashover. It continued to grow, but demand got so high, that Kim and Roy had no choice than to expand in to an industrial unit in Clay Cross in 2015.
