Festival Fringe deadline approaches

Buxton Festival Fringe is gearing up to this month's final deadline for performers with nearly 100 events lined up already!

Says Fringe chair Keith Savage: ‘‘This Fringe is the last time we’ll have events in the Old Hall’s Pauper’s Pit theatre and it is with mixed feelings – of excitement and regret – that we see the programme for July filling out.”

The final deadline for the printed programme is Sunday, April 17.

This year’s Fringe runs from July 6 to 24.

The most recent surge of entries has included a big injection of comedy, much of it at Underground Venues, with a large number of female comics including Abi Roberts, Charmian Hughes, multi award-winning Harriet Kemsley and Juliet Meyers who claims: “my flipping dog has ruined my life!”

There are also two shows from Edinburgh Fringe award winner and honorary woman Mrs Samantha Mann (aka character comic Charles Adrian). And audiences can look forward to the return of Fringe regulars The Dead Secrets, Amadeus Martin and copper turned Radio 4 star, Alfie Moore.

In other categories, latest entries include Little Glimpses with their theatre show Nipple Tassles and Nursing Bras, and Rusted Dust with their Cold War thriller The Communist Threat.

Additions to the music section include Project Adorno taking on Dennis Potter, professional harpist Alice Kirwan and singer Annette Reis with blues and more.
