20th century kids didn’t have the same technology as the youngsters of today – but there are plenty of ways in which young people growing up in north Derbyshire in the 1970s and the 1980s had it better.
We have put together a list of pictures showing what today’s youngsters are missing out on.
13. Boden's
There are great places to eat in Chezzy today, but everyone who grew up in the 70s and 80s still has a very soft spot for the chippy teas we used to get from Boden's. Photo: Chesterfield Museum Service
14. Saltergate
Nobody can argue that the Spireites don't have an amazing home today at the SMH Group Stadium on Sheffield Road, but older fans - espcecially those cheering on Chesterfield FC as youngsters in the seventies and eighties - fondly remember the terraces of the old Saltergate ground, which had an incredible atmosphere. 15. Boating on Queen's Park
There's nothing quite like messing about on the water - and weather you were going for a romantic row with your other half or enjoying a fun family day out - kids from the seventies and eighties will fondly remember boating on the lake at Queen's Park. Photo: Submitted
