150 years since the birth of Sheffield's Harry Brearley - the inventor of stainless steel

It was the invention which changed the world and helped troops in the First World War and the man behind Stainless Steel Harry Brearley would have been 150 this month.

These pictures have been donated from Picture Sheffield, the city’s archive, and show an insight in to the fascinating world to the scientist who helped give the Steel City its name.
