We’ve been searching through our archives, along with images from Chesterfield library’s local studies collection, to bring you these great photos of shops and lost pubs from days gone by on Chatsworth Road.
13. Henstocks
This shot of Chatsworth Road, looking from the Storrs Road junction in 1991, shows Henstocks and how our cars have changed over the years! Photo: Derbyshire Times
14. The Brad
This part of Chatsworth Road has changed beyond all recognition with the Bradbury Club knocked down for flats and the filling station, seen here in 1991, also demolished for shops and restaurants, including Nonnas which occupies the site today. Photo: Chesterfield Library\J Stanley
15. Walton Road
This is another part of Chatsworth Road that has been transformed since this photo was taken in 1989.
The wall on the left marks what was the JJ Blow factory, which made agricultural machinery. The site is now home to the Morrisons superstore, with traffic lights replaced by the roundabout we see today. Photo: Chesterfield Library\J Stanley
