World Book Day is on the horizon – so why not celebrate by taking a look at these authors with connections to Derbyshire and their work?
5. Ann Featherstone
Ilkeston's Ann Featherstone has quite a range - she's written both fiction and non-fiction books. If you'd rather read her non-fiction, The Victorian Clown is arguably her best work, centred around the entertainment industry of the Victorian era. Photo: Brian Eyre
6. Charlotte Bronte
Again, Charlotte Bronte's connection to Derbyshire is somewhat tenuous - however, you simply cannot deny the influence that the county had on her work. She spent some time in Hathersage, which was the basis for her fictional village of Morton in Jane Eyre. Photo: Hulton Archive
7. Caryl Hart
Children's author Caryl Hart is from the Peak District and has won an array of awards for her work, which includes "Don’t Dip Your Chips in Your Drink, Kate!" and The Invincibles series. Photo: Marisa Cashill
