Hide AdBennerley Viaduct is a disused railway viaduct spanning the Erewash Valley between Awsworth and Ilkeston.
As well as enthusing about the architecture and engineering of the structure, the programme will highlight the efforts of the community and the owners to bring the structure back into use.
Bennerley was built in 1877 but closed to rail traffic in 1968. It is a grade two listed structure and is on the ‘Heritage at Risk’ register published by Historic England.
Small stages of restoration started in mid 2014 and restoration work to create a public walkway was scheduled to start from March last year.
