5. Mike Watterson
Mike Watterson, born in Chesterfield to a steel worker, found fame as a snooker promoter - he's credited with bringing snooker to the famous Crucible theatre in Sheffield. He is beloved by Chesterfield FC fans for saving their club in 1983, when they were in serious danger of going out of business. Sadly, he passed away in 2019. Photo: -
6. John Lowe

7. Jason Statham
Ok - we're cheating a bit with this one, as he's from Shirebrook. But how could you leave out Jason Statham? Internationally known for his "tough guy" persona in films, he's starred in Snatch, Fast and Furious and The Meg - but did you know he was also a competitive diver at one stage, representing England at the 1990 Commonwealth Games?
