No new coronavirus deaths reported in Chesterfield

There have been no coronavirus-related deaths in Chesterfield over a 24 hour period, the latest NHS figures show.

The total number of people who have died at Chesterfield Royal Hospital after testing positive for the virus now stands at 115.

No new deaths were recorded at the site in the past day.

Across Derbyshire there have been 1,606 confirmed cases of the virus. The city of Derby, which is classes as a separate area, has recorded 569 cases.

Across the country a further 121 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 25,387.

The figures could be much higher, as they does not include deaths in care homes or the community.

Patients were aged between 41 and 98 years old. Three of the 121 patients (aged between 50 and 91) had no known underlying health condition.

Their families have been informed.
