Two more patients with Covid-19 have died at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, latest NHS figures have confirmed.

The figures, which give the deaths recorded up to November 16, show that the death toll of patients at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Trust who have died after testing positive now stands at 171.

The latest infection rate in Chesterfield is 323.2 per 100,000 people, meaning 339 new cases were confirmed in the week to November 14, which is the latest week for which this data is available.

Nationwide, a further 346 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 37,470.

Patients were aged between 35 and 102 years old. All except 9 (aged 54 to 99 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 19 October to 18 November 2020 with the majority being on or after 16 November.

Their families have been informed.
