The Derbyshire areas that have recorded over 70 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic began

Data released by Derbyshire County Council has shown how many Covid-19 cases have been identified by “Middle Super Output Areas” since the start of the pandemic – with these areas recording over 70 Covid-19 cases.

The current case numbers and infection rates across Derbyshire remain low – especially in comparison to hotspot areas with reintroduced restrictions, but they are now starting to rise.

Community testing was not set up until late in the pandemic, with a focus on healthcare workers and patients, so an unknown number of these cases will not feature in the available data.

Nowhere in the county is currently judged to be an area of concern by central government.

The current rate of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 people, as of the week ending Friday, September 18, is 23.5 for Derbyshire county – up from 12.8 the week before.

The average rate of cases for England is 33.8 per 100,000 people.

High Peak and Bolsover, both breached this average in the week September 7-13, with Bolsover having an average rate of 37 and High Peak with a rate of 43 per 100,000 people.
