School in Derbyshire makes uniform change in response to Covid-19

The Bolsover School has been leaving classroom windows and doors open to improve ventilation during lessons, and help prevent the spread of coronavirus.

But it recognises that as temperatures drop, pupils may start feeling the cold, which is why it has made a small but important change to its uniform rules.

A letter sent to parents this week by the secondary school says students are now permitted to wear a V-neck, plain black woollen jumper under their blazer, if they wish.

“Whilst not ideal, keeping windows open even on cold days is crucial to maintain the welfare and safety of our students and staff during these unusual times but this change to our policy may go some way to help keep our students warmer as the COVID-19 restrictions remain in place into the autumn and winter months,” it concludes.
