"Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness.

“The small number of children who have been in close contact with the individual who has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) have received a letter asking them to stay at home for 14 days from the last point of exposure.

Any child that displays symptoms of Covid-19 must stay at home for 10 days so they can self-isolate.

All members of the household and anybody who has been in close contact with somebody with symptoms must also self-isolate, for 14 days, starting form the first day the person became ill.

In confirmed cases in schools, the school must speak to the Government’s Covid-19 advice service about what measures to take and which pupils need to be sent home.
