These photos show them transforming William Gregg VC Leisure Centre in Heanor ready for coronavirus testing of people without symptoms to begin there today, Thursday, January 14.

The community testing centre will be open seven days a week, between 9am and 7pm Monday to Friday and 9am-4pm on Saturdays and Sundays. There is no need to book, with people able to turn up whenever suits them within those hours.

Anyone who is aged over 11 and lives in Heanor, Loscoe, Langley Mill, Shipley and Smalley, or who is a key worker based locally, can turn up to get tested.

The community testing centre is not for people who have coronavirus symptoms, who should book a test in the usual way. It is designed to help identify asymptomatic carriers of the virus who would otherwise be unaware they are infectious.

Calls for Derbyshire's frontline police officers to be offered the Covid-19 vaccination as a priority

The Heanor site joins existing community testing centres in Swadlincote for people in Swadlincote, Newhall, Midway, Church Gresley and Woodville.
