One more person dies in Derbyshire as England announces another 336 coronavirus victims

Another person who was being treated at Chesterfield Royal Hospital has died after testing positive for coronavirus, latest NHS figures have confirmed.

This brings the total number of deaths up to 72, while the number of confirmed cases across Derbyshire is 1,038.

Across England a further 336 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 18,420.

In the UK the number of deaths stands at 148,377 as of today (April 26).

The death toll for England and the UK is expected to be much higher than official figures as deaths in care homes and elsewhere in the community are not included in the daily updates.

There have been 2.92 million confirmed cases of coronavirus around the world.

Of these patients with confirmed cases, around 204,000 have died, while 828,000 people have reportedly recovered.
