The kind-hearted Chesterfield folk helping the community during the coronavirus crisis

With everything overshadowed by coronavirus and many of us self-isolating, it’s easy to feel glum and cut off from the world.

So we’ll help you take some comfort reading about the kind-hearted people of Chesterfield who are helping vulnerable people in our town when they need it most.

Here are some of the many positive stories that have come flying in to us the past few days:

Spire Junior School staff have been delivering packed lunches to pupils on free school meals in self-isolating households. Joanna Boulton is one of the caring people helping out with deliveries. Charlie Scattergood, 25, from Stonegravels, runs his own business and recently broke his shoulder while playing hockey. But he is still finding time to deliver groceries to the elderly and helping out with thier household errands. His friend Callum Eyre said: “During these sad times, it would be good for the town and surrounding areas to know there is still good people about.”
