Amber Valley had previously been a hotbed for new cases, and while numbers remain high, they are starting to fall.

The infection rate to November 29 was 175.6, meaning there were 225 new cases reported. The week beforehand there were 341 new cases, meaning the infection rate was 266.1.

And in North East Deryshire the infection rate is now 124.2 (126 new cases), down from 221.8 per 100,000 the week before (225 new cases).

The tiers will be reviewed on December 16, with the potential for areas to be moved into lower levels if the virus spread is sufficiently declining.
