Behind the scenes look at how Meadowhall’s coronavirus testing centre works

Hundreds of people are getting tested for coronavirus every day at a drive-through centre near Meadowhall, with scope to test plenty more.

The testing hub has been operating since 2 June in Meadowhall’s overspill car park on Weedon Street with around 80 staff on site from 8am until 8pm to help people with symptoms get a test.

While the majority of people test themselves, there are also trained testing staff wearing full PPE on site who can test people who aren’t comfortable doing it themselves. It can take as little as five minutes to get tested.

These pictures show how the process works from start to finish.
