Derbyshire pub forced to close after customer tests positive for coronavirus

The Double Top, in Inkersall, Staveley, made the announcement on its Facebook page – and said the clean-up operation began at 3am on Monday morning (21 September) after they received news of a positive test.

The pub will reopen at 12pm today, Tuesday, 22 September. A spokesperson for The Double Top said the man who returned a positive test is now self-isolating.

They added: “We wanted to make sure everything has had a good, thorough clean.

"We have sorted a test for the bar staff.”

In the seven days to 18 September there were 12 cases of Covid-19 confirmed in Chesterfield. Eighty-four coronavirus-related deaths have been registered in the town up to 11 September. Nationally, 41,788 deaths related to coronavirus have been recorded as of Tuesday, 21 September.
