Derbyshire luxury dog hotel owner wows with original song for NHS staff who have lost their lives during coronavirus pandemic

Jenny Watson who runs Broomhill Farm Luxury Dog Hotel in Old Whittington with her husband James, hopes the song will bring people together.

The 39-year-old, who wrote and sang the song, dedicated to NHS staff who have lost their lives and families who have lost loved ones, during the lockdown, said: “This difficult situation, people are separated from their families and might not be able to spend their last moments together. People are alone, it’s such a tragedy and NHS staff and carers are putting their lives on the line.

“Music is something that can help people cope. I hope it can bring people together.”

Jenny added that while she has a “passion” for music she doesn’t usually sing for people.

She added: “No one knew I could sing, customers that I have know for years have said ‘I didn’t know you did that’.

“It is a hobby, but, it is something I am passionate about.

“I have written a few songs before – I love singing.

“Someone said it has got it stuck in their heads now, which is the best thing anyone can say.

“It means that people have not only understood it, but, that it is memorable.

“It is quite a simple song lyrically, but, it has a whole lot of emotion.

“I hope it will come across positive, people have said I have a good voice, which is a huge compliment.

“I don’t usually sing for anyone.”
