Derbyshire coronavirus cases continue to rise - here are the latest figures

Derbyshire now has 75 confirmed cases of coronavirus, which is one of the highest figures outside of London and the south east.

There were 11 new cases in Derbyshire confirmed in the latest regional breakdown published on Sunday evening by Public Health England, with new figures due out later today, Monday, March 23.

Across the UK, there have now been 5,683 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 281 deaths. So far, 135 people have recovered.

Derbyshire has slightly fewer confirmed cases than Birmingham (91), neighouring Sheffield (82) and Cumbria (79) but other than those areas has more than anywhere outside of London and the south east.

There have now been 4,792 confirmed cases in England, 416 in Scotland, 347 in Wales and 128 in Northern Ireland.

The youngest person to have died is believed to have been an 18-year-old, who had underlying health conditions.

Hampshire has the most confirmed cases of anywhere in the country, with 156.
