Coronavirus: No recorded deaths at Chesterfield Royal Hospital for fourth consecutive day

There have been no new deaths related to Covid-19 recorded at Chesterfield Royal Hospital for the fourth day in a row, according to the latest NHS figures released this afternoon.

In total, 110 people have sadly passed away at the Royal after testing positive for the novel coronavirus.

Earlier, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) confirmed that the deaths of 211 people in Derbyshire care homes involved Covid-19 between April 10 and May 15.

The ONS said 155 care home patients died in Derbyshire county and 56 died in Derby city during that timeframe.

Latest Government statistics also show there are now 2,129 confirmed cases of Covid-19 across Derbyshire – 1,568 in Derbyshire county and 561 in Derby city.

The total number of Covid-19 patients who have died in UK hospitals, care homes and the wider community currently stands at 34,796.
