Coronavirus: Derbyshire's confirmed case rate hits 570 as another patient dies in Chesterfield

The figures were released by Public Health England this afternoon (Friday, April 3) as part of its daily update.

Sadly, another patient died at Chesterfield Royal Hospital today after testing positive for COVID-19- bringing the death toll at the site to 15.

Derby is classed as a separate area and currently has 183 confirmed cases.

Across the entirety of the UK, 38,168 have tested positive for COVID-19.

A total of 3,605 people who tested positive have died- an increase of 684 in a single day.

Buckingham Palace announced that the Queen would address the nation in a special broadcast over the outbreak on Sunday at 8pm.

The broadcast will be the Queen’s fourth ‘special address’ during her 68-year reign, outside of her annual Christmas Day speeches.
