Coronavirus death toll rises at Chesterfield Royal Hospital

The latest deaths, announced on Tuesday, 10 November, mean the death toll from the virus at the Royal now stands at 159.
Nationally, a further 300 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 34,963.

Hide AdThe patients were aged between 35 and 100 years old. All except eight – aged 66 to 99 years old – had known underlying health conditions.


Their families have been informed.
The latest government data shows the coronavirus infection rate fell in Chesterfield and across North East Derbyshire in the seven days to 5 November.
There were 326 cases per 100,000 people in the town during this period. The average area in England had 174.
Chesterfield is not among the 66 local authority areas in England where mass testing will be rolled out next, health secretary Matt Hancock confirmed.
