Chesterfield records one Covid-19 death

A further one person who tested positive for coronavirus has died in Chesterfield, with more than 200 fatalities across England.

In Chesterfield, the total number of Covid-related deaths at Chesterfield deaths at Chesterfield Royal Hospital has now reached 361, according to data from NHS England.

The deaths were recorded in the 24 hours to 4pm on Sunday (February 14).

Nationally, a further 231 people who tested positive for the deadly virus have died in hospital in England, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths reported in hospitals to 79,120.

Patients were aged between 31 and 102. All except 12, aged 53 and 92, had known underlying conditions.

The deaths were between December 24 and February 14, with the majority being on or after February 11.

There were 10 other deaths reported with no positive Covid-19 test result.

The data represents the deaths of hospital patients who had tested positive for Covid-19 in the previous 28 days and whose deaths were recorded in the latest reporting period.

Since April 28 2020, NHS England and NHS Improvement also started to report the number of patient deaths where there has been no Covid-19 positive test result but it is documented as a direct or underlying cause of death in the death certification process.

Meanwhile, Government data up to February 14 shows that of the 15,839,781 jabs given in the UK so far, 15,300,151 were first doses – a rise of 237,962 on the previous day.

Some 539,630 were second doses, an increase of 1,915 on figures released the previous day.
