Boots pharmacy to open vaccination sites across Derbyshire and East Midlands as part of jab roll out

Boots pharmacy is opening new vaccination hubs at three Derbyshire stores this weekend, as part of plans to aid the vaccine roll-out.

The health and beauty retailer has launched new dedicated vaccination sites at its Alfreton, Buxton and Derby Intu Shopping Centre branches which are set to open their doors this Saturday.

Hubs are also opening at Boots’ Leicester Fosse Park, Beeston, Newark and Notingham Victoria Centre – where pharmacists will administer the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine.

The pharmacy chain hopes by enabling residents to get vaccinated against Covid-19 while visiting their stores, more people will have more local options when booking their jabs.

Patients who are eligible for the immunisation injection will be invited to book a vaccine appointment by the NHS.

Programme director for vaccines at Boots Nick Sunderland said: "We are incredibly proud to be supporting the NHS to deliver COVID-19 vaccinations – our stores are conveniently located and accessible.

"We look forward to welcoming patients over the coming days and weeks.”
