Chesterfield loses another patient to Covid-19 as 372 more die across country

Chesterfield’s coronavirus death toll has risen again according to the latest figures.

The most recent NHS data shows that an additional patient who tested positive for Covid-19 has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

It brings Chesterfield’s coronavirus death toll to 186 as the town enters a new Tier 3 lockdown today (Wednesday, December 2).

As non-essential shops open in the town centre, residents are urged to be vigilant and stick to social distancing rules to help curb the spread of the virus.

Nationwide a further 372 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 41,310.

Patients were aged between 19 and 103 years old. All except 17 (who were aged 19 to 93 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

The date of the deaths range from Aptil 7 to December 1.

Their families have been informed.
