Chesterfield loses another patient to Covid-19 as 274 more die across England

The latest NHS figures show Chesterfield’s coronavirus death toll has risen again as another patient lost their battle with the deadly bug.

The most recent data from Public Health England shows that an additional patient who tested positive for Covid-19 has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

It brings Chesterfield’s coronavirus death toll to 187 as the town get to grips with a new Tier 3 lockdown.

Non-essential shops as well as gyms and hairdressers are now open, but pubs and restaurants in the town have to remain closed.

Nationwide a further 274 people, who tested positive for the virus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 41,879.

Patients were aged between 15 and 98 years old. All except seven, aged 15 to 78 years old, had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from March 26 to December 3 with the majority being on or after November 23.

Their families have been informed.
