“This year has been a challenge as always but once the school closures came into force students were plunged into a waiting game which I recognise has been very difficult.

“The challenges they’ve faced this year will stand them in good stead for the future and they will go on to make a positive contribution to their communities and also to their chosen careers.

“I very much hope they are pleased with their outcomes and will be ready for the next phase of their lives.

“I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank the parents, carers and families of our students for their unwavering support and also to the academy staff who have supported them.

“We are incredibly proud of our students and wish them every success for their futures.”

Dr Philip Smith, executive principal, added: “Congratulations to the principal for his outstanding leadership and to all involved in securing this strong set of results at Outwood Academy Newbold.

“The main purpose of education is to provide students with the skills they need to take on any challenge and adapt to the unexpected.

“The staff and students at Outwood Academy Newbold have excelled at this and provided our young adults with all they need to be extremely successful throughout their futures.”
