Latest school closures in Derbyshire after heavy snow

With much of the county still blanketed in snow and freezing conditions this morning, Friday, January 15, a weather warning for ice was in place until 10am.

This is the latest list of school closures for today, which will be updated as more news comes through.

Creswell C of E Infant and Nursery SchoolThe school site will be closed today due to significant snowfall in Creswell and surrounding areas, treacherous road conditions and the freezing fog forecast.

Cutthorpe Primary SchoolSchool remains closed today due to icy conditions on site and on the surrounding roads.

Eckington Camms CE (Endowed) Primary School

School closure. Adverse weather and travel conditions.

Holmesdale Infant SchoolHolmesdale Infant School will be closed due to the school site and surrounding areas being unsafe.

Speedwell Infant schoolSpeedwell Infant School will be closed today due to the icy roads and pavements in the area. These are an accident risk at a time when we want to minimise pressure on the NHS.

Unstone Junior SchoolSchool is closed today due to bad weather and icy road and pavement conditions.

Unstone St Marys Nursery & Infant SchoolSchool is closed today due to icy road and pavement conditions.

St Peter and St Paul School, Chesterfield

School remains open but with the roads very icy and freezing fog people have been asked to only travel if they absolutely have to and to tune in to remote learning instead if they can.
