Outwood Academy Hasland Hall celebrates successful GCSE results day after ‘challenging 18 months’

After an extraordinary year which has seen students deal with the pandemic alongside their studies, there were scenes of joy as they collected their results at the Broomfield Avenue-based academy.
Overall there were highlights for the school, where 46 per cent of the students achieved a Grade 5 or higher in English and maths, with 74 per cent achieving Grad 4 or above.

Hide AdPrincipal Ian Cooper said: “We are so proud of how our students have coped and adapted to the many challenges they have had to face over the last 18 months. The way the students demonstrated determination, resilience and humour has been inspirational.”
“Results day is always an important opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our young people and to wish them well as they move onto the next stage of their learning journeys.
