An entire Chesterfield school has been shut down due to a fire alarm fault.

Pupils and staff have been sent home from Brookfield Community School this morning (Thursday, November 5) after it closed with ‘immediate effect’ due to a problem with the fire alarm system.

A statement on the school’s website reads: “Due to a technical fault this morning with the fire alarm system the school will close with immediate effect for all students and staff.

"Engineers will be on site shortly to assess the situation.
