Bakewell's Lady Manners School celebrates 'strong' A-level results

Students at Lady Manners School Sixth Form in Bakewell are celebrating ‘strong’ A-level results despite the ‘very unusual circumstances’ created by the coronavirus pandemic.

The school says a ‘large proportion of grades’ were awarded in the range A*-B and a significant number of students achieved the very highest grades of A or A* in each of the A-level subjects that they studied, including academic and vocational qualifications.

Staff say this group of sixth formers who will be remembered ‘not only for their positivity and resilience in the face of challenging circumstances, but for their significant contributions to life at the school’.

Headteacher Gary Peat said: “Congratulations to all of our A-level students who have worked extremely hard and achieved results to be proud of in very unusual circumstances.

"On behalf of all staff and governors at Lady Manners School, I wish them the very best of luck in their next exciting steps.”
