Diamond Wedding Anniversary celebrations for Chesterfield couple

Ted (90) worked as a Wooden Wagon Repairer for most of his working life, starting out at Eastwoods as an apprentice, whilst Mary (83) was a primary school teacher, spending the majority of her career at Speedwell Infants School, Staveley.

During their retirement years they have been fortunate to have travelled the world on various cruises, including several around the world cruises with P&O Cruises, which they describe as amazing experiences and having seen some fantastic places and met some wonderful friends over the years.

During their early relationship they enjoyed dancing at 'The Vic' and continued their love of sequence dancing in later years.

Ted, who recently celebrated his 90th birthday, still looks after his own garden and greenhouse, and Mary enjoys making endless cakes and homemade cards. She also keeps fit by walking every day.

Ted and Mary will be celebrating their anniversary with their family and are looking forward to receiving their card from the King.
