Outside, family eating pods have been created, and improved garden furniture and an enhanced children’s play area will be introduced.

Andrew Crawford, operations director for owners The Pub People, said: “The Half Moon has been a popular family pub for many years but it is a long time since there has been any meaningful investment.

"These improvements together with new food menus are exciting for our staff and customers as we hopefully get back to some normality after a difficult year.”

The project starts on site on March 15 and will be completed by mid-April, in time to reopen in May.
