Run by Hannah Grainger and her husband Gavin, it is a place for select menus, music and cocktails.
Started on the back of a passion for city venues, this husband and wife team wanted to create something in Chesterfield that they themselves would go to.
Bottle and Thyme has been in the town for six and a half years, and is made of hard work, devotion, and a creative ‘yes we can’.
Let’s ask Hannah and Gavin some random, and not so random, questions.

5. Advice to someone thinking about opening an indie business?
Hannah: “That it won’t be easy, but it’s worth it. I think it’s going into it knowing there’s a lot of hard work in it. If you love something, and you enjoy it, and you’re willing to put the hard work in, you will find your way with it.”
Gavin: “Same from me. As much as it’s nice to go into it with blind naivety, just realise that it will be hard work and you need to put your all into it. If you’re really passionate about something, and you really want to make it work, you’ll make it work. Because you’ll put in the time and effort, and the love that’s needed to nurture it into a successful business. Pigeon-hole what you do and stick to it. Anything you change, stick to that for three months. And if it’s still not working after three months, then maybe you need to start thinking about it’s not the right thing to do. We’re six years in and people are still finding out about us.” Photo: Hugh at the bar in Bottle and Thyme
