Fourth-generation Derbyshire estate agent launches new property group with plans to grow
As Wilson Estate Agents celebrates 80 years in business, Managing Director Jack Wilson is looking to the future with the launch of All North Group and a commitment to protecting the identity of independent estate agencies.
A fourth-generation estate agent whose family business has served the Derbyshire property market for 80 years has launched a new property group with ambitions to bring together established independent agencies across Derbyshire, South Yorkshire, the Midlands and neighbouring Staffordshire.

Jack Wilson, Managing Director of Bolsover-based Wilson Estate Agents, has established All North Group, which has already completed its first acquisition, Fidler Taylor, an established estate agency and chartered surveying business with offices in Matlock and Ashbourne.
The launch comes as Wilson Estate Agents celebrates its 80th anniversary, having been founded in Bolsover in 1946 by Jack's great-grandfather, Leslie Wilson.
While the new group has ambitious plans for regional growth, Jack is clear that its success will be built on preserving the local knowledge, relationships and identities that make independent agencies such an important part of their communities.
"Independent estate agencies have something really special," Jack said.
"They've often been part of their towns for generations, building relationships with families, landlords and local businesses over many years.
"That trust and reputation can't simply be recreated, and it's something we feel strongly about protecting.
"Our ambition is to bring together great independent businesses, support their teams and invest in their future, while allowing them to retain the identity that their customers know and trust."
Wilson Estate Agents has been a familiar name in Bolsover since 1946, with four generations of the family involved in its development.
Interestingly, Jack initially pursued a career outside the family business, working in marketing before returning to Derbyshire following a call from his father.
"I was only supposed to be helping my Dad out for a couple of weeks after someone left," he explained.
"I went in, saw how much there was to do and got completely hooked. I suppose estate agency was in the blood after all."
Over the following years, Jack helped modernise and develop the business, expanding its lettings portfolio, introducing new systems and building a management team to support its continued growth.
Those experiences have helped shape the thinking behind All North Group.
"Having grown up around a family business, I understand how much it means to the people who have built it," he said.
"There's an enormous amount of pride, history and personal commitment involved.
"When owners start thinking about retirement or the next chapter, it's not always just a financial decision. They want to know their business, their staff and their customers will be looked after."
The recent acquisition of Fidler Taylor, with its established offices in Matlock and Ashbourne, represents an important first step in All North Group's development.
The business brings a wealth of experience across residential sales, lettings, commercial property and chartered surveying, alongside strong connections within its local communities.
For Jack, welcoming Fidler Taylor into the group demonstrates how established independent agencies can retain their individual strengths while benefiting from shared investment and expertise.
"Fidler Taylor has a fantastic history, an experienced team and a really strong reputation in its local markets," he said.
"Those are exactly the qualities we value.
"We're excited about what we can achieve together, and it's important to us that the business continues to be recognised for everything it has built over the years."
All North Group is now exploring further opportunities across Derbyshire, South Yorkshire, the wider Midlands and parts of Staffordshire, with a particular interest in established independent agencies serving local towns and communities.
The group hopes to build relationships with business owners who may be considering succession planning, retirement or the longer-term future of their agencies.
Jack added: "We know there are some brilliant independent businesses across our region, many of which have been built through years of hard work and dedication.
"We'd love to get to know more of those business owners, understand their stories and explore whether there might be opportunities to work together.
"Not everyone is looking to sell tomorrow, and that's not what this is about. Sometimes it's simply about starting a conversation and understanding what the future could look like.
"For us, the right people, shared values and a genuine commitment to local communities will always be important."
