Lisa Washington founded Wild Bears Forest School in Kirk Hallam in July 2020 to provide outdoor play sessions to benefit the community, particularly families which are struggling.

The group which is currently run by eight volunteers, who aim to make forest school activities accessible to all, has been working alongside Erewash Borough Council, Derbyshire County Council and local organisations such as Kirk Hallam Community Centre to secure funding to help those in need with childcare.
