Derbyshire outdoor playgroup to run free woodland summer sessions for families

Lisa Washington founded Wild Bears Forest School in Kirk Hallam in July 2020 to provide outdoor play sessions to benefit the community, particularly families which are struggling.
The group which is currently run by eight volunteers, who aim to make forest school activities accessible to all, has been working alongside Erewash Borough Council, Derbyshire County Council and local organisations such as Kirk Hallam Community Centre to secure funding to help those in need with childcare.

Hide AdFollowing investment from Erewash Borough Council and the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, funded by the Department for Education to help eliglble families access holiday activities, Wild Bears Forest School is offering free Woodland Summer Sessions for the community.


The outdoor playgroup said the workshops have been ‘hugely successful’ with a limited number of available spaces left.
