With people expected to flock in their thousands to the popular centre after it reopened its doors following the national lockdown today (Wednesday, December 2), Meadowhall has revealed a way Christmas shoppers can beat the queues.

According to its official website, Meadowhall’s quieter shopping times are usually after 6pm on Monday to Friday and visiting outside of peak times will help to avoid the need for queuing in the cold outside.

After Sheffield was placed at Tier 3 or a ‘Very High’ alert level, stringent measures to keep shoppers and staff safe and curb the spread of coronavirus are continuing.

People are still required to wear a face mask once inside the centre, follow social distancing along with a ‘keep left’ system and are banned from visiting with anyone outside their household or support bubble.

Meadowhall’s various cafes and restaurants remain closed but some will still be offering a takeaway or delivery option.

If the centre becomes particularly busy, visitors may be asked to queue in a designated area outside, and the centre may also temporarily close its car parks.

The entrances with covered queuing areas are the main dome entrance (Red and Yellow car parks) and the Marks & Spencer entrance (Pink car park).

Opening times are currently listed as Mon – Fri: 10am – 9pm, Sat: 9am – 8pm and Sun: 11am – 5pm.
