Queues have been forming at a Chesterfield McDonald’s drive-thru today after it reopened following the easing of lockdown restrictions

The restaurant at the Alma Leisure Park on Derby Road reopened its drive-thru at 11am.

There is a maximum spend of £25 to allow the branch to operate with reduced staff and social distancing in the kitchen.

A new limited menu has been released – which includes regular favourites such as Big Macs and Chicken McNuggets – and a smaller number of drinks, sides, desserts and Happy Meals to choose from.

A spokesperson for McDonald’s said: “We have taken some big steps to keep our employees and customers safe, so please be patient and kind to our staff and we look forward to seeing you soon.”
