The building currently includes a nightclub, barbers shop, other retail units and offices.

Documents confirm that ‘no external alterations or changes are proposed as part of the development’ and planners say the proposal ‘will not adversely impact’ the character of the town centre or the conservation area.

There were also no letters of objection from neighbouring businesses, Derbyshire County Council’s highways department or the environmental health team at Chesterfield Borough Council.

Planning officers added: “The site is not served by dedicated off-street parking, however, as the site is located within the town centre there is access to a number of car parks and bus routes.”

No indication is given about the number of staff which will be employed at the studio or opening times.
