First look inside Chesterfield pub as it prepares for July 4 reopening

A popular Chesterfield pub is preparing to reopen its doors on July 4 after the Government announced a further easing of lockdown.

Emma Clarke, landlady of the Chesterfield Arms, on Newbold Road, says she is looking forward to welcoming back her regulars and new customers, and is preparing to ensure social distancing guidelines are met.

Emma said: “We have been a bit in the dark about when and how we can reopen for some time but have been busy getting the pub ready.

“We have remodelled the beer garden to increase capacity while keeping everyone safe. We’re putting up plastic screens at the bar and looking at apps to allow people to order from their table.”
