This year’s show on June 27 is a combination of the two – a cabaret of foot-tapping folk music with a generous helping of comedy and humorous songs.

Top billing goes to the duo ‘Careen’ (Martha and Sam McKenzie), exponents of beautiful, soulful singing and instrumental virtuosity on piano and guitar.

Also featured are singer/songwriter/instrumentalist and poet Martyn Offord, famous for his wit and skill, and a laidback comedy routine by Mike Smith, a master of droll stories and perfect timing. Add to these a monologue or two and you have the ideal material for a summer cabaret.

The show is in the Burton Institute, Winster DE4 2DQ, and starts at 8pm.

Tickets are £7 from Winster Post Office, or they can be reserved by phoning 01629 650090.
