Award-winning folk trio The Young ’Uns will make this bank holiday Monday a lively one when they play in New Mills.

The Teesside tunesmiths have just won a Spiral Earth Award for Best Live Act and were nominees for Best Group at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards last week.

They will be performing tracks from their new album, Another Man’s Ground, at New Mills Town Hall on May 4 at 7pm.

The concert has been arranged by New Mills Festival and Jackdaw Stone.

Prior to the concert, a workshop running from 4pm to 5.30pm will give budding singers the chance to practise warbling with The Young ‘Uns and pick up for a few tips. Numbers for this are limited to 40.

Singing - especially from those who have completed the workshop and will be taking part in the performance - dancing and drinking of fine ales from the real ale bar will be compulsory with all proceeds going towards this years festival!

Tickets cost £12 and £10 concessions for the gig only or £20 or £18 concessions for both the workshop and performance. They are available online via www.ticketsource.co.uk or in person from Priscilla’s Hallmark Cards, Market Street, New Mills.
