Seven acts to entertain at Shay Day in Wingerworth

Big-hearted musicians are tuning up to back a charity fun day.

Five bands and two soloists will entertain at Shay Day at the Barley Mow, Wingerworth, on Sunday, May 3.

Liam Walker, Parka, Croninger, Ian Jones, Last Days of Disco, Offenders and Towards the Sun will be performing from 1pm onwards.

Shay Day will include a football match, sports auction and barbecue.

Proceeds go to the Shay Ryan Foundation which has raised £19,500 in 12 years for charities and good causes, including Ashgate Hospiceand the National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline.

The foundation was set up in memory of Shay Ryan, 22, who drowned in a pond in Wingerworth in 2001.
