Opera on Location brings Cinderella to life using shadow puppets and animation in online show

Much-loved children’s story Cinderella is brought to life on screen in a show combining projection, shadow puppetry and stop motion animation.

Opera on Location’s animated and magical reimagining of the renowned folk story is sung in English and at just an hour long, is the perfect festive treat for all ages.

The production is available to watch on the new Opera on Location website and thanks to the support of Arts Council England, will be free of charge with an option to donate to support the future work of the company.

Artistic directors Kathryn Gasic and Gareth Lloyd at the Sheffield-based company said: “We’re really excited to share Cinderella with the world and spread some free, festive cheer. It’s been wonderful for us to have been able to provide some much-needed work for freelance singers and creatives in what has been a very difficult year for them.”
