Singers are returning from as far afield as Hampshire, London and Oxfordshire for the chance to perform one of the truly great works for choir and orchestra, JS Bach’s masterpiece, the B Minor Mass, in the glorious setting and acoustic of Nottingham’s St. Barnabas Cathedral.
The East of England Singers are the chamber choir of Nottingham-based music charity, Music for Everyone, founded and directed by Angela Kay. “All these singers coming back to Nottingham for our concert just makes you realize what a wealth of classical music we enjoy in the city and county. It’s going to be a fabulous concert and a really exhilarating experience; I’m so much looking forward to conducting the performance.”
Former Bramcote residents Mike and Alison Anderson were founder members of the choir in 1985 and will be travelling up from the south coast to take part in the concert. “The music and the atmosphere are going to be amazing,” Mike said. “We wouldn’t miss singing in the 6 June concert for anything.”
Tickets are priced from £3-£10 and are available from the box office on 0115 958 9312.
